Rangers manager Philippe Clement spoke to the media on Thursday ahead of his side’s Europa League meeting with Tottenham at Ibrox.
Here are the Ibrox boss’s key lines:
-
On the financial gap between Rangers and Spurs: ‘It can all be bridged in one night.’
-
Clement added: “It’s a tough challenge and we like that. This club has a great history against strong European teams at Ibrox, this is one of the reasons why players want to play for this club.”
-
The Belgian says these are the nights you will remember for the rest of your life if you win. He said he was part of the Club Brugge team that defeated AC Milan at San Siro in 2003.
-
Clement does not buy the theory that Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs – currently winless in four games and 11th in the Premier League – are in crisis. He says: “They looked quite good when they beat Man City 4-0.”
-
He admits he will have to make more changes than usual with Sunday’s League Cup final against Celtic looming.
-
Tom Lawrence and Rabbi Matondo are gone. Oscar Cortes – who has been sidelined since September due to an injury – is available for a comeback.
