A Laplace man is facing multiple charges after being arrested for theft and armed robbery of a pizza delivery man.
The arrest of 18-year-old Montrell Isom on Tuesday comes after he was identified by St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff Office investigators using surveillance technology in two separate incidents involving the same delivery driver.
In the first incident, reported on Friday, Nov. 29, a Domino’s Pizza delivery driver was confronted in the 2700 block of Williamsburg Drive at 11:59 p.m. while attempting to make what he believed to be a legitimate delivery to an area home. Isom approached the delivery person as soon as the driver got out of the car and took the pizza from his hands without paying. The driver also gave Isom $20.
The second incident occurred on Saturday, December 7 at 11:20 PM in the 2800 block of Williamsburg Drive. The delivery person was confronted again by Isom, who pointed a gun at the driver and demanded the pizza and cash. The driver gave him the pizza and $20.
In both cases, Isom’s appearance matched the description of the person in question, as he was wearing dark clothing, including a black neck gaiter that partially covered his face.
During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that Isom had called in both orders using the same telephone number in his name. During a search of his home, the pizza box was found in his trash can.
Isom has been charged with theft and armed robbery and is being held in the parish jail. The bond has not been set.
