SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – We have to tell you about a rather special event planned for next weekend.
It’s called “Sleep 4 Homeless People.” It’s organized by Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., a chapter of Nu Upsilon Sigma, and the group hopes you can help.
Corey Ronell, a member of the group, joined us on WNDU 16 News Now at noon to tell us more about the event. You’ll learn more by watching the video above!
“Sleep Out 4 the Homeless” will be held November 1-3 at 812 E. Jefferson Boulevard (outside of Calvin Johnson’s State Farm Insurance). The group will sleep outside all weekend to realize what anyone less fortunate must face during the winter months.
The group will collect new or gently worn clothing items to prepare those in need for the long and cold winter season, including coats, hats, gloves, shoes and brand new socks. You can also donate cosmetics or make a cash donation through the Cash $DONATION1914 app.
