Reform ally Nigel Farage is furious at other MPs’ views on asylum seekers – ‘utter madness’ | Politics | News

Nigel Farage’s parliamentary ally Rupert Lowe has launched a scathing attack on his fellow MPs as he highlighted his deep concern about the high number of migrants arriving illegally in Britain.

The Reform MP for Great Yarmouth branded the current situation as ‘utter madness’, which was completely at odds with Westminster rhetoric about the ‘desperate’ plight of asylum seekers.

Mr Lowe, who is also a former chairman of Southampton FC and formerBrexit Party member of the European Parliament, made his comments on a candid post on X.

He said: “I sit in Westminster and listen to politicians going on about these ‘desperate’ asylum seekers and I just think: have I gone mad? Look at the pictures, look at the facts.

“These are not women and children fleeing war and persecution. The vast majority of these individuals are men. Young foreign men. Most of them come from foreign cultures that have no respect for our way of life or British values.

“They are not real asylum seekers, they are illegal migrants.”

Mr Lowe said he was stunned that anyone could look at “these boats full of blokes” and honestly believe they were people who should be welcomed into Britain “no questions asked”.

He added: “We have NO idea who they are – only one in 50 have a passport when they are captured. How many are criminals? How many are terrorists? We do NOT know that.

“The introduction of these men into communities in Britain is complete and utter INSANE.”

The newcomers likely saw Britain as a source of free accommodation, food, maintenance, health care and recreational activities, Mr Lowe claimed.

He added: “Is it any surprise that thousands upon thousands of others want to follow in their footsteps?

‘The boats need to be turned around. Those who do arrive must be safely detained and deported as quickly as possible. No one who comes illegally stays, no one here stays illegally.

“I don’t want these men in our country.”

A poster using the Larry the Cat The latest ONS data tells us that 25% of asylum claims into Britain came from women, while 20% were from minors.”

Mr Lowe hit back, saying: “I’m not going to take advice from someone who spends their Sunday morning online as a cat – I’m suggesting another hobby friend!”

X user Jay B Mitchell agreed with Mr Lowe, replying: “The images of the boat arrival are clear: these are mainly young men from cultures vastly different from ours, not the families or women we would expect in real asylum situations.

“It is madness to accept them without proper control. We are talking about safety risks, of which so few have documentation.”

Michael Freeman commented: “The whole mess just makes it harder for genuine asylum seekers to get through.”
