Previously, Anushka acclaimed cricketer Ravichandran Aswin after announcing his retirement from international cricket. Taking to the Stories section of her Instagram, the actor shared a video from BCCI and wrote: “A durable legacy.” Ravichandran Aswin was one of the formidable forces of the Indian side during his tenure in international cricket, and is regarded as one of the greatest spinners of all time. He was part of the 2011 ODI World Cup winning side and also the 2013 Champions Trophy, where he bowled the final over in the 2013 final, leading to Indias win.
Ravichandran also contributed to Indian cricket with his bat as he provided strong support in the batting department in the lower order.
The actor is currently in Sydney with her husband, Indias battle legend Virat Kohli as the Indian cricket team gears up to take on the mighty Australian cricket team that has dominated team India for most of the series so far.
Team India won the first match of the ongoing match Gavaskar Border Trophy below Jasprit From Bumrah captaincy. However, the team failed to capitalize on the matches that followed after the skipper duties were handed over Rohit Sharma. Sharma, who realized team Indias dream of owning a World Cup trophy in June 2024 after the T20 The World Cup win has failed to deliver in the ongoing Test series and seems clueless in the face of the inconsistent batting order that easily collapses under high pressure from the Australians.
With the final Test, India needs to level the series by winning the game to keep the window open for the upcoming edition of the WTC. If team India wants to qualify for the WTC, Australia must lose Sri Lanka in their upcoming test series even after leveling the ongoing test series.
