Police are investigating an armed robbery committed at a supermarket owned by a Chinese national.
The incident took place at around 9.05pm on Friday at An Sheng Supermarket, located at Kuru Kururu on the Soesdyke/Linden Highway. The supermarket is owned by Chinese national Zhenfa, a businessman from Vryheid’s Lust, East Coast Demerara.
The robbers made off with $500,000 in cash, a quantity of Digicel and GTT (One Communications) phone cards worth $150,000, and three bottles of Hennessy cognac worth $60,000.
