According to reports, Meghan Markle’s friendship with Victoria Beckham has ended due to the Duchess of Sussex’s irritation with the Beckhams’ display of wealth.
But while their relationship may have changed, the two still display a strikingly similar fashion sense, often being photographed in almost identical outfits.
Beyond their style choices, Meghan and Victoria have one other thing in common: their mutual love of high heels has caused both women to suffer from bunions.
Meghan’s painful condition became apparent in 2010, which allegedly led her to undergo surgery to remove a bunion from her left foot, while Victoria’s penchant for high heels led to a similar problem.

While Meghan no longer endorses the Victoria Beckham brand, she certainly seems to be emulating the former Spice Girl’s style.
While hitting the red carpet at the Variety Power of Women 2023 event in Los Angeles, Meghan radiated glow in a floor-length Proenza Schouler gown.
The draped, off-the-shoulder design was very reminiscent of a look that had appeared on Victoria Beckham’s runway a few years earlier.
Both women also liked trouser suits. At the 2022 Invictus Games, Meghan wore a white two-piece by Valentino, consisting of an oversized double-breasted jacket and wide-leg trousers.
A similar set appeared in Victoria Beckham’s recent collaboration with the Mango store.
The outfit presented by the designer herself consisted of a long, wrap jacket and flared trousers that were as long as Meghan’s.

Their roles were reversed when the former Suits actress wore a flowing linen creation from St Agni to the G9 Ventures Summer Summit in the Hamptons in July.
Three years earlier, Victoria wore unremarkable trousers, also with pleats at the front and an exaggerated silhouette.
Showing off their love of wide-leg styles, both women wore camel-colored, belted-waist, high-waisted pants in 2023, with Victoria taking the lead.

The duchess’s foot problems were particularly noticeable during her first royal tour in 2018, during which she performed 76 engagements in 16 days.
During her 41 outfit changes, she was only seen wearing flats seven times and preferred to stay in high heels, but it looks like she paid the price for it.
During a traditional welcome ceremony in Rotorua, New Zealand, Meghan, as is customary in Maori culture, removed her shoes, revealing a bunion on her right foot and possibly a scar from previous surgery on her left.
At the time, podiatrist Robert Duff told Femail: “There appears to be a bunion on my right foot and some exostosis, which is a bony growth.
“Wearing heels too much can certainly lead to the development of bunions. This may be the reason in Meghan’s case.”
“Excessive wearing of heels can certainly lead to the development of bunions,” podiatrist Robert Duff told Femail
In addition to bunions, signs of excessive wearing of high-heeled shoes also appear on the sole of the foot, where a specialist would look for calluses on the ball of the foot.
“Wearing heels can lead to calluses and bunions because they put too much pressure on the ball of the foot,” Robert explained.
“It may cause problems with the big toe joint due to excessive extension of the joint caused by the unnatural position of the toes in these types of shoes.”
Meghan’s love of high heels has been evident since she started attending her engagement with Prince Harry.
Before the royal tour, she was never seen at home on official outings – even on sporting occasions such as a visit to Croke Park in Dublin.
In Victoria’s case, friends reported at one point that the singer was in so much pain that she began massaging her feet with ice and doing daily exercises in a desperate attempt to avoid a bunionectomy surgery recommended by doctors.

According to royal author Tom Bower’s latest book, “The House of Beckham,” Meghan’s “desire to be chic” like the former Spice Girl was, which contributed to the breakdown of their friendship.
Bower also claimed that the duchess was frustrated when Victoria was reluctant to provide her with free clothes and accessories from her brand, even though such requests were against Palace rules.
In 2018, Victoria lent the King her cloak for a Christmas service at Sandringham.
Appearing on US talk show Live With Kelly And Ryan, she described Meghan’s decision to choose her designs as an honor.
The mother-of-four said: “She looked so beautiful. It was a wonderful surprise to wake up on Christmas morning.

However, Mr Bower claimed the appearance had little impact on sales.
