The last time this unique Toronto condo at 37A Elm Ave. was sold, was back in 2013and even then it cost a whopping $2,280,000.
Now the three-bedroom, four-bathroom condo is back on the market for whopping $4,199,000and that may be the case already picked up.
But honestly it’s not surprising that even for that price it didn’t last long, the place is BEAUTIFUL!
One of only three suites, 37A Elm Ave. a rarity.
Combine that with the fact that it has over 3,000 square feet of living space in the old Larkin Mansion, and you have a gem of a home.
Inside the house you are greeted by high ceilings, large main rooms and plenty of natural light.
Being in an old Rosedale country house there is also plenty of charm and character.
The Larkin Mansion was converted into three apartments in 1989, and as the ad states, they did so with the “highest level of craftsmanship and design.”
You will notice original wooden details that have been preserved, antique marble fireplaces galore and great built-ins.
However, there are certainly some places in the house that could use a makeover.
The kitchen, for example, screams early 2000s with its black granite countertops and glossy white cabinets.
Likewise, the master bathroom has a weird glass door that reminds me of a dentist’s office and the same black granite throughout.
The other thing that dates this unit is the wall-to-wall wall-to-wall carpeting.
But these are all just cosmetic things that can be easily fixed.
Since these units come to market so rarely, a few outdated features won’t be a dealbreaker.
The apartment also features 700 square meters of storage space in the basement, two parking spaces and large stone terraces for outdoor living space.
The only thing this apartment doesn’t offer are amenities like a concierge or a gym.
It’s more like living in a house, but you don’t have to do yard work or house maintenance, which, when you think about it, is really the dream.
