From Maps to Search: Google recently announced these AI updates – Check details

Google AI updates: Artificial intelligence (AI) has seen tremendous growth in recent months, with all major tech companies now introducing AI features to make their products easier to use.

From Maps to Search, tech giant Google also recently announced seven AI updates that give people more ways to ask questions, search for information, and get an AI overview of products.

With these updates, users can ask Google Maps more complex questions, such as “things to do with friends,” to get answers curated with Gemini. They can also look for quick answers to questions about a place, in addition to helpful review summaries. According to the company, these features are very useful if users don’t have time to read through them all.

“The latest AI update in Maps means that whether you’re traveling across town or around the world, you can get the most up-to-date information when you need it. Make sure you also check out the new updates we’re making to Waze, Google Earth and our developer products,” the company said.

Now users can also upload PDFs, Google Docs, websites, YouTube videos and more to NotebookLM to gain new insights and dive deeper into new topics.

Google Shopping, which has now been rolled out in the US, helps users choose the right product. This feature uses AI to take the guesswork out of finding the right products.

“For example, when researching a product, an AI-generated briefing gives you more detail on the most important things you need to know before purchasing a product. And as you browse the results, you’ll see AI-generated instructions on what to consider before making a purchase, plus the products that may or may not be a good fit for your needs,” Google explains.

Google Search has received a major AI update, expanding the types of questions people can ask.

In October, the company added even more updates, including helping people identify songs in Circle to Search, shop for what they see, and search with video.

All Chromebooks now come with the Gemini app, and Chromebook Plus laptops include new Google AI productivity tools like Live Translate, Help Me Write, the Recorder app, and Welcome Summary, which help people pick up right where they left off when they log in to a Chromebook.
