From Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar to Disney’s Big Hero Six, here are four major films celebrating their 10th anniversary this month.
As we get closer to 2025, some of Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters are celebrating their tenth anniversary, and you might be surprised by some of the films on the list.
2014 feels like an eternity ago, especially given the major events that have transpired over the past decade: COVID-19 pandemic, four different British Prime Ministers and the Barbenheim cinema spectacle, to name a few.
The year is especially notable in the film industry for its iconic films, such as Oscar-winning drama Whiplash and Jake Gyllenhaal’s hit thriller Nightcrawler. But what other films hit the big screen in 2014?
Before we welcome in the new year, here are four films celebrating their 10th anniversary this month and where you can watch them.

Christopher Nolan has had a successful decade since his 2014 space epic was released. The director has since helmed Dunkirk, Tenet and Oppenheimer and is reportedly working on a new film set for release in 2026, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Featuring A-list actors Anne Hathaway and Matthew McConaughey, Interstellar tells the story of a former NASA pilot who is hired for a mission to find a habitable planet as humanity faces extinction on Earth.
While science fiction may not be everyone’s cup of tea, the film delves into themes that strike a chord with all viewers, including love, human connection and family. Plus, it features a breathtaking score by Hans Zimmer that reinforces the grandeur of the mission.
Despite positive reviews and five Oscar nominations, Interstellar’s nearly three-hour running time may be a bit much for some.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1
Do you remember the Hunger Games? Of course you do; the franchise took the world by storm after its debut in 2012. The third installment, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, continues Katniss Everdeen’s journey into the dystopian, unforgiving world of the Games.
Based on the novels by Suzanne Collins, Mockingjay – Part 1 grossed $755 million worldwide, making it the second highest-grossing film in the series. The franchise catapulted Jennifer Lawrence to household name status and also stars Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson and Woody Harrelson.
The Hunger Games movies are available to stream on Netflix.
The theory of everything
Set in 1960s Cambridge, The Theory of Everything is a heartbreaking biopic about the late physicist Stephen Hawking and has an impressive 81% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Eddie Redmayne plays Stephen Hawking, who falls in love with a fellow University of Cambridge student before being diagnosed with motor neurone disease.
Despite his diagnosis, Hawking, with his girlfriend Jane Wilde (played by Felicity Jones) by his side, continues his ambitious study of time. Redmayne’s performance was critically acclaimed and won him the Oscar for Best Actor in 2015.

Big Hero Six
A family-friendly treasure from 2014, Big Hero 6 tells the story of a teenage techie who teams up with a healthcare robot to get revenge for his brother’s death.
Inspired by the Marvel Comic of the same title, this Disney film offers audiences an action-packed viewing experience that explores deep themes of sadness, love and anti-violence.
Nickelodeon star Ryan Potter headlines the cast and lends his voice to the main character, Hiro Hamada.
Big Hero Six is available to stream on Disney+
