Four people rescued during fire in Erandwane

Firefighters rescued four people, including an elderly woman, from a burning building in Erandwane. The fire caused by the short circuit damaged the vehicles, but there were no fatalities.

Firefighters rescued four people near Kamala Nehru Park in Erandwane after a fire on Sunday. Gajanan Patrudkar, fire brigade officer from Kothrud, said that the fire brigade rescued four people who were stuck on the first floor of a residential building.

“Two of the rescued citizens were women and one was in her 80s. The rescue operation was carried out because residents were unable to escape from the building due to the extensive fire and thick smoke. The fire was brought under control by 7:30 p.m., fortunately there were no fatalities,” he added.

According to Patrudkar, two passenger cars and a three-wheeler were burnt in the fire. According to the fire brigade, there was an electrical panel fire at the charging station.

“We believe that the incident was caused by a short circuit. Further proceedings in this case are ongoing,” he added.
