Patrick Dempsey thinks back to his appointment as ‘Sexist Man Alive’ last year
Patrick Dempsey recently discussed the pros and cons of being named ‘Sexist Man Alive’ in 2023.
By explaining the disadvantages of this coveted title, the Grey’s anatomy alum said, “It makes me more scared. I had to stay in shape and train more.”
However, Patrick believed, “It’s amazing how much reach it has.”
Thinking about the benefits, the Enchanted actor said: “I think it’s a great platform to do something positive with… It gives me a chance to talk about The Dempsey Center (which focuses on cancer care).”
“Fame in itself is kind of empty, but if you can do something and be of service, then that’s what life is about and it gives you meaning and joy,” Patrick added.
Elsewhere in the interview the Made of honor actor revealed that he never took the title seriously.
“It’s really good for the ego, but it’s so subjective,” he noted.
Patrick noted that there are “so many great men who are attractive in many ways, just physically or just who they are as a person, so you take it seriously enough to be grateful, but don’t take it too highly. seriously.”
When asked how it felt to win the title after previous accolades, the Scream 3 actor responded, “It’s a great group of people to be a part of.”
“There are some remarkable men who have done incredible things, so it’s fun to be a part of that,” he further said.
