FORT SMITH – Fort Smith police are investigating after they say one person was injured in an attempted robbery.

The incident occurred at a home in the 3300 block of North 27th Street, according to a news release from the Fort Smith Police Department.

The victim met with several people in connection with the sale of a personal item, police said in the release Wednesday evening.

Police say the situation escalated and the victim suffered a non-life-threatening injury.

According to police, it appears to be an isolated incident, without an ongoing threat to the population. No arrests have been made.
