The Hoggs Hollow area is known for being home to some of Toronto’s most outrageously expensive mega-mansions. It’s a neighborhood where flaunting your wealth and building extravagant homes is the norm.
This is an area where homes cost an average of $3.4 millionalthough homes in the area regularly sell for more than $4 million.
An impressive house in the area at 34 Plymbridge Cres. W has just come to the market and it is listed for $3,980,000.
But the price is not the only thing that makes this home special.
The four-bedroom, five-bathroom home, located on a quiet cul-de-sac, has not been on the market for more than thirty years.
Surrounded by nature and estates, this house feels so classic it could be a private home Nancy Meijers film.
From the moment you see 34 Plymbridge Cres. W, the timeless appeal of the house is clear.
The lushly landscaped front garden oozes charm, while the inside of 34 Plymbridge Cres. W is, oh, so cozy and welcoming.
And for a house that hasn’t been on the market in 30 years, she looks good. The owners have made many upgrades over the years.
This is what real estate agent Janine Sheeres told blogTO famous architect Napier Simpson from Toronto designed the extension on the second floor of the house in the 1970s.
In the early 1990s, the owners carried out another major renovation.
For example, the kitchen has been upgraded with some high-end appliances such as a Subzero refrigerator, Jennair cooktop and wall oven, and a Miele dishwasher.
And there are certainly some rooms in the house that could benefit from another update – such as the bathrooms with melamine countertops.
But despite some dated parts, the house really has good bones.
On the main floor you have all the main living areas including a mudroom and home office.
The rooms are cozy yet light and spacious.
And while the interior may not be to everyone’s taste, it gives off Martha Stewart vibes, which we respect.
A unique aspect of this home is that the master bedroom is on the ground floor, which Sheeres says makes it a “fantastic downscaling option.”
But if you’re not yet in the ‘downsizing’ phase, there are three other bedrooms on the second floor, so there’s plenty of room for growing families or those who enjoy entertaining guests.
There is not much outdoor space on the site itself as it is an irregularly shaped plot. But the house faces Brookfield Park, so there’s that.
And of course the location is of the highest level.
Sheeres notes that 34 Plymbridge Cres. W is just a short walk from York Mills subway station, the shops and restaurants of Yonge Street and exclusive clubs such as Granite and the Cricket Club.
Whether you envision moving in as is, renovating or realizing your Nancy Meyers dream, the possibilities are endless at 34 Plymbridge Cres. W.
