Valerie Bertinelli celebrates two years of ‘freedom’ after this her divorce from Tom Vitale.
The 64-year-old Food Network alumnus took to social media on Friday to share a hopeful message with fans, saying that life “gets better” in the end.

“And I did! Today marks two years of freedom. Went through self-doubt for two years and did my best to reach the other side,” Bertinelli wrote, referring to her ill-fated marriage to Vitale that concluded in November 2022.
“Two years of knowing I didn’t deserve to tolerate the unbearable,” she continued. “Two years of working on shame and self-loathing (still working on that part – long tail that ). Two years of work to find my true self.”
Bertinelli credited her most recent boyfriend Mike Goodnough, whom she recently spoke to split after 10 months of datingfor allowing her to “feel love again.”

Bertinelli said she has spent the past two years working on herself by “confronting demons and past traumas” to become the “most authentic” version of herself.

In November 2022, Bertinelli announced that she had “happily separated” from Vitale.
Bertinelli met the financial planner and entrepreneur – also CEO of e-commerce company Veebow – in 2004 and became engaged in March 2010.
The couple tied the knot in January 2011. After ten years together, the host of “Valerie’s Home Cooking” presented has filed for a legal divorce from Vitale in November 2021.

Bertinelli was married to the late Eddie Van Halen from 1981 to 2007. In October 2020 the legendary rocker died of cancer at the age of 65.
The couple had one child together, son Wolfgang, now 33. Vitale had four of his own children from a previous marriage.
