Cylinder blast in Uttar Pradesh: 5 killed, 8 rescued in Bulandshahr explosion

At least five people were killed on Monday when a cylinder exploded in a house in Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh state. Part of the house collapsed in the explosion and it is feared that some people will be trapped under the rubble.

According to police, the incident took place between 8:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. in Sikandrabad area.

“We have information that five people were killed and some were trapped under the rubble in a colony explosion in Sikandrabad police station area of ​​Bulandshahr district,” said Additional Director General of Police, Meerut zone, Dhruva Kant Thaku. quoted by PTI news agency.

Bulandshahr District Magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh stated that there were around 18-19 people in the house at the time of the explosion.

He said eight people were rescued and taken to hospital, with some in critical condition. “The condition of some of them is very serious,” he added.
