A rescued piglet meeting his “friends” for the first time is warming hearts left and right

Rescued animals sometimes have difficulty bonding with other animals. This adorable rescued piglet named Blossom was recently introduced to other animals for the first time and had no problem making friends. Luckily for us, Ziggy’s Refuge recorded these first interactions and made them available to all of us on Sunday, October 20.

The film begins with her meeting Wilbur, whom she immediately fell in love with and spent a lot of time kissing. It didn’t bother him at all and he was very patient with her. After hours of playing with her new friends, she found a pile of leaves to take a nap in. The whole situation made me smile!

It was the cutest thing I’ve seen in a while and now I want a piglet! Ziggy’s Refuge fans all agreed that the piglet is adorable and lucky to be living his blessed life… especially after such a rocky start. @Kim4242!! she shared: “Blossom is the most precious pig. Fortunately, he has plenty of friends to love and lick every day!” and @spilly.girl added: “I love it! You’re giving her the life she deserves! What an amazing story.”

@jillibeanfl wrote my favorite comment: “Thank you Ziggy for helping with so many other hurricane rescues, sanctuaries and such.” and they replied, “We cannot imagine going through such destruction without any help. We were glad we could help. Thank you!”

How to support animal rescue

Not all of us have the resources or knowledge to support animals in need, especially those with special needs like many of the animals living at Ziggy’s. Animal rescuers always need help; they need more money, more space and more hands to care for animals. There are ways we can all support them, even if we can’t afford to donate money or bring an animal home.

One way you can help is by volunteering. Some rescue organizations open their doors so people can come to spend time with the animals or help feed, clean and care for the animals and the spaces in which they live. Rescues often use volunteers to transport animals from one place to another or to pick up needed supplies and deliver them.

My favorite way to support rescue efforts is through word of mouth. Rescuers appreciate the support they receive online. If you follow any rescues, you will see that sometimes they may be trying to rehome animals (especially dogs and cats). If you see an animal that you know would be a perfect partner for your friend or family member, pass the information on to them!

By simply following rescues on various social media channels, you help them reach a larger audience. It doesn’t cost you a cent to like, comment or share posts, and by doing so you open doors to a whole new audience. This is the easiest way to show your support without spending a penny.
