KIMBERLY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help following an incident that occurred on a school bus last week.
According to the Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred around 7 a.m. Oct. 7 when the driver of a Ford pickup truck tried to pass a milk truck on Idaho Route 50 near Kimberly.
To avoid a head-on collision, the driver pushed an oncoming school bus carrying elementary-aged children onto the side of the road.
The office is investigating misdemeanor, reckless driving and driving charges because a pickup truck driver may have caused a potentially fatal collision with a school bus and a semi-truck.
“We see almost daily concerns about the safety of our school buses transporting our children,” the office said. “There is nothing more important than the safety of these children.”
Officers are trying to identify the company that owns the milk truck to obtain dashcam footage. The office said the pickup is likely white.
The office asked anyone with information about the incident to contact it or send a message to its Facebook page.
