According to reports, one Liverpool player is “expected to sign” a new contract and an “agreement” has been “almost” reached between all parties.
The future of three Liverpool Players are in doubt as Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk enter the final year of their contracts.
All three players have been linked with a departure and it is unclear whether they will commit their future to Liverpool or start a new adventure.
Arne Slothis team is now having more success with other players. Earlier this month, academic product Jarell Quansah extended his long-term contract, while Ibrahima Konate is in negotiations with the club on a new contract.
The Frenchman’s performance has been plagued by injuries in recent years. However, he has performed brilliantly at the start of this campaign as he and Van Dijk are Slot’s preferred centre-backs.
Konate’s current contract expires in 2026 and Fabrizio Romano expects him to be “the next to reach an agreement.” He also revealed Alexander-Arnold’s “priority”.
“Liverpool is making very good progress in negotiations with Ibrahima Konate,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.

“At Liverpool, Konate is expected to be the next person to reach agreement on a new contract. The salary is almost agreed, there are just some minor details to be worked out with the player and his agents.
“But Konate is very happy at Liverpool and feels how important he is to the club and Arne Slot. He is therefore expected to sign a new contract with Liverpool.
Romano added: “I will say it again – Trent is prioritizing talks with Liverpool. If they fail to reach an agreement and Trent becomes a free agent, Real Madrid will definitely be there. Real Madrid love the quality of Trent Alexander-Arnold.
“It’s not surprising to me. I think every director of football in the world would like to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Alexander-Arnold has been heavily linked with Real Madrid, with former Liverpool defender Glen Johnson urging him to sign for the La Liga giants.
“If I had to prioritize extending the contract of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk, I would choose Trent, mainly because of his age,” Johnson said.
“They are all world-class players, but Trent is younger and could probably play in the Liverpool first team for another six or seven years.
“Mo and Virgil, as good as they are, won’t be able to do it. Of course, there are rumors that Real Madrid want to sign Trent and I don’t expect them to go away.
“Real Madrid is a big, iconic club. Most players may not say it, but almost everyone wants to play for Real Madrid. If Madrid wanted him, I think it would be a deal they couldn’t refuse.
“He was a huge success at Liverpool and won all the trophies you would want as a player for his boyhood club. If he decides to leave, it doesn’t mean he will leave on bad terms.
“I don’t think anyone will complain or blame him for moving to Madrid because when Real Madrid calls him with a free transfer, it’s hard for any player to refuse.”
