Owner Amanda Dinges, who lives on Level Road in Churchville, wrote that she “tried all night to get at her but ran out of ideas.”
She explained on Facebook:
Little did we know that there was a hole behind our wood stove that led to a 7 foot high cement room. She fell into this room. I had a bag of hay on the string all night long and tried unsuccessfully to pull it out. The fire department was amazing, they came and drilled into the brick to get it.
She noted, “I was a mess all night because I saw her but couldn’t reach her.”
She said she was very happy. “Our girl is safe… You are all amazing.”
The owner also shared a photo of Pickles resting in a hay bin after the stressful incident.
