It’s hard to believe, but the designer promoting playful pinks and charming lilacs wore only black in her twenties.

That’s right, the pastel-loving founder and creative director of LoveShackFancy, Rebecca Hessel Cohen, once rocked New York’s unofficial colors.

“Seriously, head to toe,” Alexie says. “And although I was always super feminine, my uniform was a black miniskirt with a blazer and high heels.”

It wasn’t until Cohen gave birth to her first daughter that she fell in love with what she calls “roses, flowers and whimsy.” Her flirty dresses, ruffled skirts and girly tops with whimsical prints quickly became favorites of stars such as Jennifer Lopez, Paris Hilton, Nicky Hilton Rothschild, Eiza Gonzalez, Emma Roberts and Sofia Richie. The lifestyle brand’s unashamedly beautiful aesthetic is even used as an adjective.

“I love literally everything,” model Leni Klum told Alexa during the LoveShackFancy fashion show in September.

However, it’s not just dusty roses that look romantic in the land of LoveShack. Hessel Cohen introduced “Noir Nights,” a monochromatic assortment of LBDs and high-end suits in the darkest shades, with a selection of ivory pieces for contrast. Turns out jet dresses and inky, tiered tulle minis look just as dreamy as pink ones.

“Wanting to celebrate my 20-year-old self and our girls, with a little bit of madness, I felt very comfortable offering all these gorgeous black looks this season,” the designer explains. “Of course, dancing and dressing up are at the core of who we are. In light of this, we were inspired to create a collection that you can dress up and go from New York to Paris, Los Angeles and Miami, wherever our girl happens to be.

These pieces go with everything and are black, but they are not plain. Hessel Cohen embellishes them with his signature “vintage-inspired tulles, lace, sparkle, sequins, sparkles, crystals and beautiful gems.” In terms of texture, there are soft velvets, elegant faux leathers and nub tweeds.

Here’s a look at what to wear from dusk to dawn.
