FCT, Abuja -Operation Udoka troops in the Southeast arrested the founding father of IPOB/ESN, Pius Iguha, and two notorious terrorist leaders.
Soldiers also killed 24 terrorists, arrested 12 violent extremists and rescued one kidnapped hostage.

Major General Edward Buba, Director, Defense Media Operations, said the raid took place in Orsu, Imo State, Amaruku and Arochukwu sub-sectors of Abia State.

It said these operations were aimed at ridding the nation of insecurity and eliminating commanders and leaders of terrorist gangs.
Iguh was arrested in Orsu area of Imo State while the IPOB terrorist commander, Emmanuel Onwugu, was arrested in Mbano LGA of Abia State.
“In a combined operation, soldiers and security forces arrested a notorious cult leader named Ifeanyi Rock. He was arrested along with 10 of his fighters in Arochukwu, Abia State.”
He added that:
“The troops recovered 10 AK47 rifles, 15 pump-action pistols, 4 locally made pistols, 153 rounds of 7.62 mm special ammunition, 111 live rounds, 2 vehicles and 4 mobile phones, among others.”

The operation took place on Thursday, March 7 and was attended by soldiers, policemen, DSS officers and NSCDC personnel.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that the Nigerian Army has reiterated its determination to apprehend the killers of five soldiers in Aba, the capital of Abia State.
Legit.ng said the soldiers were killed on May 30 by gunmen who were reportedly enforcing a stay-at-home order by the controversial Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) group.
In a new statement, the army said soldiers carried out a “successful raid” on a camp of armed IPOB separatists, killed some of them and recovered weapons and ammunition.
