Another named storm has not been ruled out as the last Atlantic month of 2024 hurricane The season opens Friday and so does the National Hurricane Center tracking three areas for potential development.

November 30th marks the end of the Atlantic hurricane seasonand that can’t come soon enough. In the meantime, there are three areas worth checking out as we count down the days.

Early voting is taking place North Carolinaand the state is making it easier for people affected by it Hurricane Helene to cast their vote.

After so many towns and roads were washed away by Helene floods and mudslides in Western North Carolina, state officials decided to do so setting up tents to serve as polling stations for Tuesday’s elections.

Seven tents have been set up in four of North Carolina’s most devastated counties: Buncombe, Burke, Haywood and Yancey. Yancey County has four tents, while Buncombe, Burke and Haywood counties each have one tent.

All evacuation orders have been lifted in parts of the country San Diego after a wildfire broke out near the San Diego State University campus.

The Montezuma/Fairmount Fire had scorched nearly 100 acres by Thursday afternoon. Authorities ordered people to evacuate several neighborhoods west of the university, including an elementary school.

As of Thursday evening, firefighters said 25% of the fire was under control. Six houses were damaged and no injuries were reported.
