Strictly Come Dancing contestant Chris McCausland performed part of his dance with the lights off, for a blackout moment described as “spectacular” by the judges.
Chris McCausland is the first blind participant in the competition and consistently ranks high in the weekly leaderboards. Head judge Shirley Ballas became emotional as she gave her glowing feedback, while her colleague Craig Revel Horwood added: “That harrowing blackout moment was absolutely spectacular.”
It follows a Strictly routine from 2021, in which deaf actor and Strictly Come Dancing champion Rose Ayling-Ellis and her dance partner performed in complete silence for a short time. Former Eastenders star and dance partner Giovanni Pernice won a Bafta for best must-see TV moment.
