Chico police arrested a man accused of robbing a store patron at gunpoint on Saturday.

Officers responded at 11:50 a.m. to a call from Chico Marketplace reporting that a subject had pointed a firearm at a person, taken property from him and then fled the premises. Police on their way to the crime scene found the suspect – identified as Adrian Gallardo, 36 – on Forest Avenue, near the mall.

After taking Gallardo into custody, police found an undetectable firearm known as a ghost gun in his bag. He was arrested on possible charges of robbery, possession of a loaded firearm in public, illegal possession of an assault weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of an undetectable firearm and possession of a high capacity magazine.

Police are asking anyone with information to call 530-895-4911 and quote case number 24-008226.

Storm predicted

The National Weather Service office in Sacramento expects two storms to hit the northern state in the coming week, according to the forecast issued Saturday.

NWS said the valley and foothills can expect thunderstorms with light showers on Monday, and mountain areas should prepare for light snowfall. That front will pass through Tuesday, but another storm is forecast Wednesday evening that will bring light to the valley and foothills over the weekend — and light snow in the mountains Thursday and moderate snow Friday and Saturday.
