Lily, 15, was on holiday in Turkey with her mother, Lyndsey Logan, and older sister when tragedy struck. While the three women were having lunch, a paraglider landed directly on Lily, leaving her in serious condition.
According to Sky NewsThe day of the accident would have been the family’s last day of vacation before traveling home. The incident took place while they were eating at their table. The victim’s family was unsure if she was still alive.
“I remember Lily was just eating, biting into a piece of pizza and this paraglider just came out of nowhere and completely swept her off the table,” Ms Logan said. The sun. “She put her face on the table and we tried to get her up. She was clearly unconscious and suffered a stroke while lying down. I thought she was dead. So I pulled her, we tried, everyone pulled her back onto her side. and her eye was cut open.”
The panic-stricken family feared for Lily’s life. The afternoon started out as an innocent holiday meal, but quickly turned into a nightmare for Mrs. Logan and Lily’s sister.
‘I thought she was dead, I thought she was dead, I screamed. I thought, where is the ambulance and I thought, ‘Lily keep talking to us, keep talking to us,’” her mother said.
Miraculously, the 15-year-old survived the incident, but not without horrific injuries. Medical personnel arrived on the scene and took Lily to a nearby hospital for treatment. The family did not have travel insurance, which resulted in a high bill.
“The hospital told us she has a brain haemorrhage. She has a broken jaw, but she has broken the bone in her jaw. She may have a broken back and broken ribs,” Ms Logan said. “They noticed her tongue was split in two too.”
The family has one GoFundMe campaign which has now raised thousands of dollars from supporters. However, the family still has a long way to go to ensure Lily’s successful recovery.
