SuperSport’s much-loved football magazine show, Fanbase, has won the Most Informative Talk Show award at the Behind The Scenes Awards.
This award reflects the show’s extraordinary commitment to providing football fans with in-depth insights, compelling stories and a platform to express their passion for the sport.
Launched in 2020, Fanbase was created as a unique space where football fans could openly share their views on their favorite teams. It has since become a staple for fans looking for in-depth coverage and thoughtful discussions about South African football.
Produced by the talented trio Nono Cele Xaba, Karabo Pholoba and Tsheamo Legoati, Fanbase continues to evolve and captivate viewers every week. The show is hosted by Lindiwe Dube and airs every Sunday at 5.30pm on SuperSport PSL (DStv Channel 202).
To further strengthen its bond with fans outside Gauteng, Fanbase has organized numerous roadshows across South Africa. One of the most notable events took place in Umlazi during the 10 year celebrations of the DStv Diski Challenge at the iconic King Zwelithini Stadium. The team also traveled to Mpumalanga, where the roadshow saw an enthusiastic turnout of local fans, eager to share in the excitement of the live experience.
The journey to winning this award was not without competition. Fanbase stood alongside other respected talk shows including Rea Tsotella in Moja Love. To triumph in such a competitive category is a testament to the hard work, dedication and creativity of the entire Fanbase team.
