Stephanie was the victim of a brutal robbery on November 9 at a gas station in the 16200 block of Imperial Valley in Greenspoint.
A black man, dressed all in black and wearing white and yellow Jordan 1s, chased her, hit her and stole her purse. The suspect was driving an early 2000s four-door gold Impala.
Transgender woman beaten and robbed
Stephanie suffered a serious assault during a gas station robbery, which she believes was motivated by her transgender identity. The attacker left her with serious injuries that required surgery.
The suspect hit Stephanie so hard that he shattered her elbow, sending her to the hospital. She now has metal plates in her arm.
“I felt like this was my last day alive,” she said.
Stephanie is transgender and says the man made several insults towards her, leading her to believe this was the reason she was targeted.
She heals physically and emotionally, while encouraging the community to stay alert.
