Mali is ready to complete the Morila mine, an initiative launched in May 2024 by the political framework that aims to strengthen the public exploitation of these minor resources. Progress has intervened following the withdrawal of a complaint against longtime Australian property, Firefinch, by the evil corporation Générale Traoré en Frères SARL (EGTF).
On November 20, 2024, Firefinch announced that the complaint regarding the reimbursement of FCFA 12.84 billion (environmental USD 20.7 million) is being retired. Selon Brett Fraser, president of Firefinch, has made the decision to close down Morila’s society and focus on reallocating its activities to its action level.
If the deadlines for an amicable settlement for Firefinch and EGTF are not known, the solution that differs from the price is for an integrated control of the mine by the exploration and exploitation company des Resources Minérales du Mali (SOREM-SA).
In the event that the agreement was signed in May 2024 between Firefinch and the governorate, the mine transfer for a dollar symbol was terminated. With plus the 7.5 million euros (plus 200 tons) extras of the creation, Morila represents an active strategy for Mali in its démarche of the participation and benefits of the mini-sector.
