Two Mississauga men and a Brampton man are facing theft charges in connection with a series of shoplifting incidents in a pair of southwestern Ontario towns.
The three men were arrested Wednesday shortly after they were spotted by staff at a store in Goderich, located on the eastern shore of Lake Huron, Ontario Provincial Police said in a news release Friday.
Police said store employees recognized the men because they had reportedly been to the same store before. Two men were arrested a short time later, while a third suspect was arrested by police after a short search.
Police began their investigation on November 12 into thefts at shops in both Goderich and Exeter, about 30 miles south-east of the former.
“Three individuals were captured on video surveillance leaving the stores with stolen merchandise,” police said.
Antoni Dolinski, 35, Mateusz Sokolowski, 28, both of Mississauga, and Armando Dolinski, 43, of Brampton, are each charged with theft over $5,000 and theft under $5,000.
They were taken into custody and later released. They will appear in Goderich District Court at a later date.
