Strictly’s Nick Knowles has revealed that the knee injury he suffered on the show will take ‘nine months to fully recover’ and will require surgery.

The TV presenter, 62, was eliminated from the BBC show in week three after previously being forced to withdraw from Movie Week due to a shoulder and knee injury.

Nick also had to undergo surgery on his shoulder to reattach the biceps, with ‘two to three months’ of physiotherapy ahead.

As the TV presenter endures a long and grueling recovery process, he hopes to be in shape to tie the knot with 33-year-old fiancée Katie Dadzie next summer.

Speak with The sunNick revealed that he will be ‘resting until February’ and then his DIY SOS tasks await him.

‘I really hope I’ll be back on my feet by then, although I won’t be fully recovered until August next year.

‘We have our wedding booked for next summer and the plan is that we can have a first dance.

“It won’t be a full Strictly routine, but I’m determined to have a special dance with Katie,” he added.

The TV veteran praised his “amazing” fiancée for taking him to his hospital appointments and even “putting on his pants” because he can’t do that himself.

Nick and Katie made their first public appearance in September 2021, and Nick proposed in New Orleans last July with a Haribo ring.

TV star Nick separated from wife Jessica Rose Moor in 2016, before dating PR guru Emily Hallinan whom he divorced in February 2020.

He was also previously married to Gillian Knowles from 1996 to 2000.

Nick previously revealed his Strictly Come Dancing future when a fan asked him if he would do the group dance at the end of the series.

When someone asked on Instagram: ‘Can you still do the end of series dance in the final? It wouldn’t seem right if you weren’t there.’

Nick replied, “I’m not sure my injuries will allow it. I have to wait for the knee surgery until the biceps surgery heals so I can use crutches afterward.

“So unfortunately I don’t think the recovery will come in time.”

Last month the broadcaster shared a video from his hospital bed in which he told fans he has ‘two or three months’ of physiotherapy ahead of him.

He said, “I just woke up from my surgery.

‘Everything went well so I’ve now got a reattached bicep, so a bit of physio in the next two or three months and all should be good and back to 100% I think.

“So that’s one down and one to go on the knee,” he added, captioning the video: “All done – thanks to Mr. Ahrens, the surgeon and all the medical staff.”

Nick and Luba lost the dance-off to Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu.

When Tess asked about their time on the show, Nick said, “I’m really surprised by how much I enjoyed it and two things that happened.”

He explained, “One is how much you care every week, and the other is how much you don’t want to let your partner down.

“The only reason I could do this is simply because of Luba’s changes, she’s amazing.”

Luba said, “I have never met anyone as determined as you, and I remember you saying that if you do your best, you will be very happy. I think you’ve done more than your best. Thank you.’

When Tess asked him about his partner Luba, Nick said: ‘Luba has been amazing and so fantastic every day.

‘And I would also like to say thank you to all the background staff, the physios, all the people who have actually helped me through this week, and to all my fellow competitors who have been absolutely amazing, beautiful people.

“There are some great dancers there, and I’ll enjoy watching the rest of the series.”
