BROKEN ARROW, OKLA. (KTUL) — One person is dead after an officer-involved shooting in Broken Arrow.
Officers responded to a domestic disturbance near E 101st Street and S Elm Place around 11:30 a.m. Friday.
When police arrived, they were confronted by a man armed with a machete.
One officer fired his weapon, hitting the person.
Officers provided medical aid and the man was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
According to Broken Arrow police, the officers involved were not injured.
The police are keeping the name of the person involved secret so that the family can be informed.
“Our department is committed to following protocol and conducting a thorough and transparent investigation into this incident,” Broken Arrow police wrote on Facebook. “We ask for your patience and understanding as the investigation continues.”
