Charlie Woods, the son of legendary golfer Tiger Woods, discussed his first career hole-in-one on Sunday during the PNC Championship.

“It was amazing,” the younger Woods said in an interview after the event. “Nobody made a mistake today, so that was the most fun I’ve ever had. Plus, I made an ace. I don’t think I can top that. It was great.”

During the final round of the tournament at the Ritz-Carlton Club Orlando, Charlie hit a shot from 175 yards on a par-3 fourth hole.

The 15-year-old revealed that he initially didn’t know he had carded an ace.

“It was a perfect 7-iron, so I just hit it,” Charlie told Golf Channel. ‘Just 175, a little to the left, a little seven.’

“It was amazing,” he added. ‘I didn’t think it went in. I don’t believe anyone until I go there and see it.’

Team Woods ultimately suffered a narrow defeat to Team Langer in a playoff, as both duos were tied at 28 under through 36 holes.

Bernhard Langer and his son, Jason, defeated Team Woods in a two-hole playoff after the elder Langer recorded an eagle on the third trip down the par-5 No. 18 hole to earn a second straight victory in the event.

The Woods family finished the competition at No. 2 for the second time in five tries before finishing second in the 2021 PNC Championship.

Despite the playoff loss, Tiger was impressed with his son’s performance all day.

“This is one of the highlights we’ve ever had,” Tiger said in the newspaper interview following the tournament. “We were talking about it before on the last hole, he made his first eagle. Now he just made his first hole-in-one. It was a magical two-hole stretch. I’m just so happy for him and for the fun we had as a family being there with Bernie and Jason was a lot of fun.”

Although the pair were unable to capture their first PNC title, they still shared a memorable experience on the course with Charlie’s top performer.
