ESPN’s FPI predicts the outcome of the Oklahoma-Navy bowl game

ESPN’s FPI has a prediction for the Oklahoma vs. Navy in the Armed Forces Bowl later this week.

FPI gives the 6-6 Sooners a 75.6% chance to cap off that vaunted Navy offense during ET’s afternoon kickoff on ESPN from Fort Worth.

Navy (9-3) had something of a renaissance season in 2024, starting 6-0 and ranking. After bringing the Midshipmen back down to earth by losing three of their next four games, Navy rallied to win the final two games, including a 31-13 victory over the favored Army in the annual rivalry game.

In the meantime, Oklahoma has experienced just about everything a team can experience in 1 fall. The Sooners fired offensive coordinator Seth Littrell in October and saw quarterback Jackson Arnold move on Chestnut brown and lost 5 of their last 7 regular season games after a solid 4-1 start.

Despite all that drama and losses in such a short time, not to mention many other players transferring or opting out of the bowl game, FPI believes Brent Venables’ team can handle Navy to have a forgettable season to end with a victory.

Kickoff for the Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth is Friday afternoon at noon ET.
