Danielle Smith will not receive a lump of coal at Christmas, despite her government’s efforts to facilitate new coal mines.

The Canadian Taxpayer’s Federation (CTF) has released its annual Naughty and Nice List, and federal director Franco Terrazzano has double-checked his list of the country’s politicians and bureaucrats.

“Santa doesn’t like it when girls and boys are greedy, and forcing struggling taxpayers to pay for Santa-sized bonuses is as greedy as it gets,” Terrazzano says. “And Canadian diplomats are also on the Naughty List because Santa loves eggnog as much as the rest of them, but even he knows that Global Affairs Canada is sipping just a little too much Christmas cheer.”

Alberta’s premier has landed on the Nice List for “taking Santa’s least favorite tax to court.”
