A Boxing Day theft from an Ontario liquor store led police to file shoplifting charges against a man found in a stolen vehicle, investigators say.
The shoplifting incident occurred shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 26 at an LCBO location in the Bolton area of Caledon, the OPP say.
Detectives had a description of a getaway vehicle and were able to locate the suspect, who, according to police, was found in a stolen vehicle.
A 39-year-old man of no fixed abode was arrested and charged with multiple offences, police say.
The OPP say Paramjit Sandhu, 39, has been charged with two counts of theft under $5,000, three counts of failing to comply with a probation order, possession of an identification document, operation while prohibited and other offences.
The suspect was held for a bail hearing in Orangeville.
