Guelph police warn after two deaths ‘possibly related to illegal drug use’ – CP24

Police in Guelph are asking the public to be “cautious” after two people recently died due to the consumption of unregulated drugs.

The deaths occurred in the city center on Friday, they said.

In a post on X, Guelph police said the fatalities “may be related to illegal drug use.”

“Health officials in neighboring communities recently issued warnings about possible contaminants,” they wrote in the community alert.

Police advise people to call 911 if they see someone overdosing on drugs and to administer naloxone if opioid use is suspected.

People are also urged to perform rescue breathing/compressions and not give other remedies to affected individuals.
