How did Trump win the swing states?
Journalists from the USA TODAY network shared how former President Donald Trump captured key swing states in the 2024 election.
Arizona, famous for its extensive post-election counting, on Saturday became the latest state in the country to be called into the 2024 presidential race. The Associated Press, CNN and NBC confirmed Saturday that Republican Donald Trump won the state.
The news means Trump has completed a sweep of all seven battleground states, giving him a decisive Electoral College victory over Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris.
The state’s 11 electoral votes give Trump 312 votes. Vice President Kamala Harris finished at 226.
The former president-elect now leads Harris by 184,935 votes statewide, with approximately 483,131 ballots remaining to be counted.
Trump secured his return to the White House on Wednesday morning, staging a remarkable comeback after his 2020 re-election defeat.
He defeated the seven presidential battleground states and improved his margins in many places in the country in 2020 to achieve a decisive victory.
He makes history as the second president in American history to be elected to serve two non-consecutive presidential terms.
