A father from Sydney, Australia, has gone viral TikTok for capturing what life is like in a busy household with three boys.
Tommy Pham, 35, filmed his two-month-old son – the family’s newest addition –sleep peacefully by a loud, spontaneous performance by his older brothers, aged two and four.
In the clip, the eldest sits on a stool and plays a drum set, while the middle child chaotically beats a marching drum around his neck with a spoon.

Pham, the author of My Family Kitchen: easy Vietnamese recipes and other Asian-inspired dishes for the whole familywrote in the text overlay: “When you come home from the quiet hospital and discover that you are in fact the third child and not the first.”
The father of three told me Newsweek that his youngest son “slept like a baby” while both his brothers played music.
“The older kids don’t even think about the baby and do what they want. The youngest gets used to it so easily and just accepts it all,” he said.
Pham’s clip has been viewed two and a half million times since it was posted on October 23. Hundreds commented on the video, with many in hysterics over the middle child who appears to be banging on his drum so hard that the belt becomes too tight and he has to stop.
“It’s not the middle child who almost chokes on the belt,” one person wrote.
“I really didn’t want to believe in birth order but every time I see something like this it just proves it to be true,” another joked.
According to birth order theoryMiddle children often experience a distinctive role that differs from both their older and younger siblings. Factors such as the lack of a defined role, the way they develop social strategies, and feelings of neglect can cause them to compete for attention.
Others praised Pham’s youngest for being so flexible and able to sleep through the noise. “They learn to sleep through the noise very quickly,” Pham wrote in his caption.
Despite the boisterous “welcoming ceremony” (as one TikTok user put it), Pham later shared Newsweek that the family made the most of the day. “(The) baby stayed the night and we all went to the park.”
