The incredible new £9 billion high-speed line that will connect two iconic destinations | World | News

A new £9 billion high-speed line was calling Bright Line West is set to connect Las Vegas with Southern California.

While construction is just beginning, when completed the 350 kilometer rail route will provide a faster and more environmentally friendly travel option between the two iconic regions.

The line will connect Las Vegas to Rancho Cucamonga in California. and trains will reach speeds of up to 200 miles per hour.

This means the journey can be completed in about two hours, cutting the typical driving time in half.

Brightline already operates high-speed rail in Florida and is leading the project, which is supported by a mix of federal funding and private investment.

According to the company, almost 50 million trips are made annually between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, more than 85% of which are by car.

It is therefore no surprise that the route is often subject to heavy traffic jams and major delays.

Brightline West aims to address these problems by serving more than 9 million single passengers annually.

The trains will operate primarily along the I-15 freeway and are expected to be operational in 2028, in time for the Los Angeles Olympics.

Passengers can choose between ‘smart’ and ‘premium’ seats.

The smart option offers travelers spacious airline-style legroom and food and drinks for purchase, while the premium option offers additional amenities.

Brightline promises a guest-first experience, with VIP-style services such as onboard hotel check-in and luggage transfers directly to hotels.

The stations will also be placed in convenient locations in Las Vegas and throughout Southern California, including the Apple Valley, Hesperia and Rancho Cucamonga stops.

The trains will also be fully electric and emit no emissions.
