Meanwhile, hours after announcing their divorce, Rahman’s bassist Mohini Dey also confirmed that she has decided to part ways with her husband Mark Hartsuch. This left many wondering if Rahman’s divorce has a link with Mohini. However, Saira Banu’s lawyer clarified that there is absolutely no connection. Now, AR Rahman’s daughters Khatija and Raheema Rahman have also condemned those who spread unverified rumors during their parents’ divorce.

Rahman’s daughter Raheema Rahman shared a cryptic message on her Instagram story decrying the rumors. It read: “Always remember… Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools and accepted by idiots.” Raheema slammed those spreading the rumors and wrote: “Honestly, get a life.” Meanwhile, Khatija also shared the same post on her Instagram story.

Saira Banu’s lawyer Vandana Shah rubbished the rumors and said that Rahman’s divorce is not related to Mohini. She told ETimes: “There is no connection at all. Saira and Mr Rahman have taken this decision themselves.” Speaking further about Saira and AR Rahman’s divorce, she said that every long marriage has its ups and downs, and if it has come to an end, she is happy that it is done. “Both Rahman and Saira will continue to support each other and wish each other well,” she said, adding that their divorce is “amicable” and that there has been no discussion on the financial aspect so far.” They are both extremely sincere and this one decision was not taken lightly. It is not what you would call a marriage of convenience,” she said.
